Location & Attractions

Both properties are set within the Blackdown Hills of Somerset, a recognised area of outstanding natural beauty. Conveniently situated approximately 9 miles from the towns of Taunton, Wellington and Honiton, so no matter what route you take into the West Country, the location means that within a short drive you reach the accommodation.

If you travel by rail or air, we are approximately 45 minutes from Bristol and Exeter, which means if you fancy visiting nearby cities this can be done during your stay.

A mile away is the small rural village of Churchinford with a community shop, pub and one rural farm shop selling locally sourced produce. Other villages nestle in the hills close by and offer a plenty of places to eat out. The owners of the properties will be more than happy to recommend the best places to go.

The nearest town is the county town of Somerset – Taunton.  Here there are a variety of shops to suit everyone. Taunton is located just off the M5, which makes it easy to visit the rest of the county to towns such as Glastonbury, Street and Britain’s smallest city – Wells.  also within an hours drive are the national parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor with their breathtaking views and abundance of walks and wildlife.

Being on the Devon/Somerset border and not too far from Dorset, this means that within easy reach are the coasts of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Weston super Mare and we are only an hour and a half away from Cornwall.

No matter what age you are, there are plenty of tourist attractions.  There are a number of National Trust Houses and gardens such as Montacute House and Killerton Gardens along with places for the children such as Crealy Adventure Park, Diggerland and the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

Being set in the heart of the countryside there are a number of walks around including public footpaths. There is also fishing, golf and horse riding all within a half an hour.
